A warning to those joining Four Oaks Baptist Church

On the 14th of May 2023, Four Oaks Baptist Church in Mere Green, Birmingham, held a vote on whether they would perform same sex marriages in the church.

Despite having voted only three years previously to be a church which would actively welcome same sex couples and members of the LGBTQ+ community, the church membership voted 5 to 27 to not to allow same sex marriages.

FOBC still publically preaches a message of acceptance for all, while maintaining this outdated stance internally.

It is now my only hope that this page will allow anyone considering attending or joining FOBC to do so in posession of all the facts, and to avoid the kind of hurt which this decision causes all too often at churches across the country and beyond.
